Celebrate the Day
Today, July 3rd, is Eat Beans Day. Since we didn’t care for this high fiber holiday, we are celebrating National Ice Cream Month, instead. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month. With that being said, let’s get the scoop at ice cream companies and see what they are doing for this holiday. Baskin Robbins ice cream introduces a new July Flavor of the Month–its Oreo ‘N Chocolate. Marble Slab and Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream celebrate National Ice Cream Month with the Sweetest Happy Hour. Half off any single serve item Monday through Friday from 12pm to 2pm. At Cold Stone Creamery, they are getting ready for Shark Week, which is actually in August. Their tagline is so appropriate… “Your gonna need a bigger spoon.” It has blue ice cream with graham cracker crust to look like sand and gummy sharks. Too Awesome! At Blue Bell Creameries (here in Texas), they introduce a new flavor every year during National Ice Cream Month. This year it’s called Magic Cookie Ice Cream Bar flavor. Its ingredients are graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, coconut and chopped walnuts or pecans. Yum! At Ben & Jerry’s they are rolling out the new ‘Core’ lines. These new flavors include all the chunks and swirls but with the added bonus of a delicious core down the middle of every pint. So there you have it–ways to celebrate National Ice Cream Month.
